The collapse happened at 326 South 14th Street near Reese Street around 11:30 a.m., according to emergency dispatch.
The building, a condemned housing unit believed to be unoccupied, was reportedly under some form of construction, officials said. Details about potential injuries remain unclear, but first responders are working to confirm whether anyone might have been inside at the time of the collapse.
The Harrisburg Bureau of Fire and other crews are on the scene, with Squad 8 confirming “conflicting reports of persons trapped” in a release shortly after noon.
South 14th Street has been closed to traffic as emergency personnel continue their efforts.
This is a developing story.
